The Path to Peace
Mike Foster

Speaker Mike Foster continues our Advent series speaking about how Jesus bucked the trends of his day and how we can do the same today and find peace.

Discussion Questions

Clarification note from Mike:  In this message I used the phrase “in the world”, such as “to live in the world one must ignore truth on some level.”  In retrospect I wish I would have said “OF the world” to add clarity as scripture tells us we are to be in the world but not of the world. What I wanted to convey was living in a settled condition where our trust is misplaced and our motives, and thoughts are dominated by things not of the Kingdom of God.

  1. Have you ever heard these concepts in this message before?  If no, why do you think that is and what is your initial response to them?
  2. ***Question taken from N.T. Wright*** “At Christmas our focus is often on gift-giving, big meals, music concerts, family gatherings and, yes, a story of a new born baby.  What are the things Luke is emphasizing in his story?”
  3. How can you bring more peace into your sphere of influence?
  4. If anyone would like to have further discussion/questions/push back (yes, we welcome push back) with Mike about this message he can be reached by email at mflespaul@yahoo.com or phone at 607-793-0157.
