Read through 1 Corinthians 4:1-13
1. What indication is there in this passage that at least some of the Corinthians are judging Paul?
2. Paul contrasts his critics with himself and the other apostles. How does he describe the Corinthians? How does he describe his own experience?
3. Ward said in his sermon that Paul and his critics differ over their view of Christian discipleship and the Gospel. Explain.
4. Paul declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, “The (Lord) said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me…For when I am weak, then I am strong.”  What do you think Paul means?
5. According to Ward, suffering is an integral part of Christian discipleship. He said, “There is no resurrection without first crucifixion.” Do you agree. Why or why not?
