This Sunday at the Vineyard:
Join us this Sunday, as we begin a new message series about passion, we're calling Real Heart.
We are going to spend the next four weeks talking about topics that
really get people excited here at the Vineyard. People are moved by
passion. Come and hear what some of our leaders are passionate about,
and what that passion looks like when it's turned into action!
We hope you'll join us this Sunday, as we talk about Outreach. Remember to invite a friend!

Book Recommendations
This
past week, Mike recommended a couple books on the kingdom of God, we
would like to share with you. If you are interested in borrowing the dvd
of Derek Morphew that he shared, please contact us at vineyard@ithacavineyard.org, and we will get that to you.
 Breakthrough Derek Morphew Jesus
came preaching and demonstrating the kingdom of God. So radical was
this breakthrough that human history is divided by it into before Christ
and after Christ. The theology of the kingdom provides the best
framework for understanding the life and ministry of Jesus, signs and
wonders, healing, revivals, missions, and the Christian life. Derek
explores the kingdom through both Old and New Testaments and then works
out the implications of the kingdom for life and ministry.
The Gospel of the Kingdom George Eldon Ladd Ladd
gives a clear and practical explanation of the central message of
Jesus' ministry for the general reader. Avoiding technical discusions
and long arguments about issues of interpretation, Ladd has instead
sought to explain the Kingdom of God and the urgency of its meaning and
message for our own time. Ladd's study of Jesus' parables and the Sermon
on the Mount is as devotional as it is instructive. In the words of
Owsald Smith, Ladd's explanation of the concept of the Kingdom of God
will "make the Bible a new book."

Sacred Rhythms/Sane Living Conference Sacred
Rhythms/Sane Living is a two-day conference sponsored by the Ithaca
Vineyard and led by Dave Nixon, director of Sustainable Faith and
founding pastor of Vineyard Central.
During the conference, Dave
will discuss the cultural shifts that have occurred over that last
couple of generations and how these have affected us socially,
emotionally, economically, physically, and spiritually.
This
Friday evening/ Saturday event is designed to help you feel the rhythm
of spiritual practices that lead to greater intimacy with God.
Conference
participants will be introduced to a more intentional and saner way to
honor their relationship with God in a way that is rooted in the
Gospels.

Backpack Giveaway
The
start of a new school year should be a fun time. Who doesn't love all
of those new pencils and erasers? Let's help some kids in need in our
community start the year off right, with a nice new backpack stuffed
with supplies.
This Sunday, August 15th,
we will have backpacks and lists in the cafe. We would love for you to
take a backpack and a list, fill it with lots of fun school supplies,
and bring it back to the church on August 22nd. We will also collect donations for the backpacks during this time.
We have set a goal to fill 50 backpacks!

Got a weed-whacker?
The
parking lot across the street is looking a little wild and weedy. We
are looking for a volunteer or two to help trim up some of the weeds in
the parking lot and around the building.
