Published September 7, 2012An quick update about our search from PST member, Mike Heisler: Wow, I’ve now written 4 of these. Not four posts, this same one 4 times! It was supposed to be a July update. I would write it, let it simmer in my head for a few days and then forget to send it. Published June 28, 2012This update comes from Mike Heisler and our Pastoral Search Team. Wow, it’s been 2 months since the last update. Sorry about that. We have been meeting regularly and have had some pretty interesting applicants. As you may recall from our last post we were going to put our position description on the Vineyard USA jobs site. Having done that we have received more than 20 more applications. They are still coming in. We’ve received them from all over the country and various parts of Central America, Africa and Europe! Published April 19, 2012Being regular The Pastoral Search Team has resumed its bi-weekly meeting schedule. Wading through the web Our initial search included contacting Vineyard churches we had connections with and the regional overseers across the country. This utilized a more personal network of people that we hoped would provide applicants closely suited to our church. No one has worked out yet from this networking although we continue to review any applicants that come in from these contacts. We had gone through the first round of interviews without having a clear sense that any of the candidate were the person God had to become our next lead pastor. Published December 7, 2011Starting on Monday, December 12, we are having 5 days of prayer and fasting to seek God concerning our pastoral search. While many of us have been doing this individually, we would like to tak Monday through Friday of next week and ask people to consider taking a 24 hour period of time to pray & fast. Published November 20, 2011Usually, when I think of meetings and committees and group projects, I think of a million other things I’d rather be doing. Being on the Pastoral Search Team has been a different story- It’s actually fun and exciting. I look forward to doing the work in preparation for our meetings, and enjoy the time we have together.
