Becoming a Kinship Leader
Interested in becoming a kinship leader? At the Vineyard, kinship leaders are an important part of our church providing leadership and pastoral care to those who are part of this church.
If you are interested in learning about becoming a kinship leader, here is a great place to start:
Join a group! -
If you are not currently part of a kinship group, this would be the best place to get started. We select our kinship leaders from those who are already committed to being part of a kinship.
Talk to your kinship leader. -
Once you have been part of a group for a while, you should tell your group leader of your interest in leading a kinship group on the future. He or she will be able to suggest some next steps that will help you.
Become a member of the Vineyard.
While you do not need to be a biblical scholar, or anything like that to lead a kinship, there are a few things that we look for when selecting kinship leaders. We clearly want to find people who are good at facilitating discussions, and have a sincere love for people. Also, we want to find people who are committed to this church and have bought into our vision and values. (all kinship leaders are tithing members of the Ithaca Vineyard).
