Kathy Murray

Bio: My name is Kathy Murray and I lead the Prayer Team here at the Ithaca Vineyard.

John and I met at Covenant Love Commmunity Church in 1975 and married in June of 1981 at the church. We have been married for 26 years and have three beautiful daughters: Candace and Christine are identical twins and are 23 years old this year and have taken on leadership roles at major hotels in Orlando and Tampa; Caitlin, our youngest, is 21 years old and will finish her last year at the University of Chapel Hill, N.C. John coached wrestling at Ithaca College for 11 years and lead the team to 3 national championships. Presently, he is co-owner of Advantage Sports and Fitness; I am a remedial reading/writing teacher at Ithaca High School.

Birth: I was born in Bonterre, Missouri in 1954.

Education: I earned a B.A. in English Education, 7-12 at Ithaca College and finished at Binghamton University with an M.A. in Education.

Interests and favorites:

Places to visit: Maui has the vast ocean and secludedness, Madrid the amazing historical sites, and Vail, Colorado, the majestic mountains.

Coffee shop: I like to go to the Seattle Coffee place at Borders because I can sit down in a comfy chair, drink my coffee, and read whatever I fancy on that day.

Music on my iPod: Alternative Classical/Pop, Contemporary Christian, and Gospel.

Books: I have read every historical fiction by Philippa Gregory.

What I DVR: If I had a DVR I would DVR ‘Heroes'.

Movies: I've watched the ‘March of the Penguines' 6 times. It's an incredible documentary on survival.

Sports teams: Ithaca College Wrestling, 1981-1995.

Hobbies: Reading, Walking, Hiking, Gardening, Bird-Watching, Dancing, Knitting, Stained-glass Crafting.

Pet Peeves: Disorganization and messiness.

Weird Fact: Before we were married, John and I would have candlelit dinner dates at the clock tower at Cornell.
